Imagine a future where the heart of the Middle East becomes a beacon for agricultural innovation. Saudi Arabia is making this vision a reality with the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture unveiling four dynamic investment opportunities aimed at transforming the Makkah region into a hub for integrated agricultural cities.
Revolutionizing Agriculture in Makkah
The exciting projects on offer encompass a range of agricultural advancements, from the cultivation of vegetables and crops to nurturing fruit trees, and even establishing a cutting-edge lab for wild seedlings. These initiatives represent a bold step towards bolstering food security, supporting sustainable practices, and enhancing the agricultural sector. The overarching goal is to diversify the economy, achieve agricultural self-sufficiency, and safeguard natural resources for the future.
The first opportunity invites investors to develop a thriving agricultural city dedicated to vegetable and crop production in Al-Kamil, near the Wadi Al-Sabaan Dam. This promising venture spans approximately 144,507 square meters. Meanwhile, the second opportunity offers a similar venture in Al-Kamil, this time adjacent to the Wadi Al-Shawan Dam, covering about 287,082 square meters.
Further, the third opportunity focuses on the establishment of an agricultural city specializing in fruit tree production in Haly 3, Makkah, with an impressive area of approximately 1,118,131.08 square meters. Lastly, investors are encouraged to engage in the creation of a Taif rose nursery and laboratory within the Saiysad National Park, spanning around 51,629 square meters, to cultivate wild seedlings.
Seize the Opportunity to Shape the Future
Potential investors can apply for these lucrative opportunities through the “Furas” platform. The Ministry has set a deadline of October 1, 2024, for proposal submissions and bid openings. This call to action aligns with the Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to foster sustainable development and boost the national economy.
